Join CCBC for our September outing as we saunter along Jetty Road in Moss Landing! Jetty Road, a sandy, unassuming spot on the north-side of Monterey County, is an amazing place to view a huge variety of birds – without having to walk too much (or at all).
Park along Jetty Road just as it turns south across Moss Landing’s North Harbor on the west side of Highway 1, giving us options to walk in either direction along Jetty Road, or across the dunes to Moss Landing State Beach – where the wind / sand / birds take us. Look for the orange CCBC flags to guide you towards a pull-off/parking area.Â
All birding levels are welcome -- brand new, casual, seasoned!Â
CCBC recommendations:
Binoculars (a few will be available to borrow)
Be prepared for possibly sandy conditions
Wear layers of clothing and comfortable shoes
Download the Merlin Bird ID app
BONUS! Check out the Moss Landing--Jetty Road, north jetty & State Beach eBird hotspot data to see what’s been spotted nearby recently!
Join the Central Coast Birding Collective for our fourth annual (!) Birds & Brews Trivia Night, an evening of bird and bird-adjacent trivia as we celebrate and close out the 2025 Monterey Bay Festival of Birds weekend!
Compete for fun (birdy) prizes with a team of up to five people! If you are planning to attend with a group larger than five, be prepared to split up for some friendly competition :) Come as a team, or arrive as a singleton and meet new folks to create a flock when you arrive.
